English Theatre „OLIVER TWIST“
On 7th March 94 students of 1aELT, 1eELT, 2aPAT and 3dEGT visited a guest performance of the American Drama Group Europe in the city theatre Wels.
TNT Theatre Britain presented OLIVER TWIST by Paul Stebbings and Phil Smith based on the novel by Charles Dickens. This production of OLIVER TWIST tours from Estonia to Spain and Scandinavia to Sicily for eight months in 2016/2017.
The cast consisted of five actors, two men and three women who brilliantly performed. The themes and social issues raised by Dickens are as relevant today as they were when the novel was published over one hundred and sixty years ago. The central theme is the link between poverty and crime. As the rich get richer and the poor poorer, what could be more relevant than Dickens masterpiece?
We enjoyed the performance with typical British humour and the balancing act between slapstick and tragedy.
